Peer Review of Water Services Regulator for ESAWAS

Peer Review of Water Services Regulator for ESAWAS

WAI were appointed by ESAWAS in 2015 to undertake the CEO Peer Review of the water services sector regulator in Zambia; NWASCO. This is an annual process that selects a different water services regulator each year. The process includes review of a wide range of relevant documentation and an extensive process of senior level interviews, as well as several major workshops.

WAI’s role included inputs into the design of the process, content of questionnaires, active participation in interviews, facilitation of workshops, synthesis and analysis of findings and compilation of the final report. The assignment also required in-depth research and analysis of three water and sanitation utilities and NWASCO itself. In 2016 WAI again performed the same function with regard to the Peer Review process in Mozambique.
