In June 2017, WAI were part of the consortium that were successful in bidding for the CRIDF II programme. WAI were assigned to head up the institutional development portfolio in CRIDF II that will run for at least until April 2020. In this role, Adrian Wilson was part of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) and several other WAI personnel were active on a number of institutional related assignments. The institutional aspect was given a higher priority in CRIDF II than in CRIDF I. The programme addresses a wide range of water sector related projects in eleven SADC countries. Adrian is playing a strategic oversight, project management and quality assurance role. A key part of this work is carrying out due diligence assessments on the institutions that will be the owners of the projects, once they are implemented. The assessments are strategic but holistic in nature. Climate resilience is one of the key issues being addressed. Adrian also played a cross cutting and linkage role with other CRIDF streams.

Activities performed: Leadership of institutional development for CRIDF II. This includes preparation of guidelines and assessment reports, as well as project management of the institutional team and linkages with other members of the PMU.
